For "shelflife": colloquialism is not I agreed with "shelflife" that all Chinese drama have their local accent, you would notice the difference if you watch Mandarin drama of China, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia. On top of that, there would be a lot of phrase or words that have been using specifically in their country, which you might not understand at all. (even a Taiwan Chinese watching a drama with scripts written by a Singapore Chinese, that Taiwanese might not understand some of the phrase too) You need someone good in Chinese to introduce you the appropriate modern drama for you to learn, best with Chinese subtitles. Q. I was watching the Gymnasts and noticed that the girls on the Chinese team were particularly young. I think china is taking advantage of the olympics a bit, will the age and also the judging. I watched Nastia and her routine was near perfect, then I saw the chinese girl do it and make noticable mistakes. In the end the Chinese girl came out with the gold even though Nastia should have won it. Does anyone else feel the judging is a tad biased and the atheletes underage?
